WELCOME TO OZ!!!
After almost 2 days of traveling from Chiang Mia, we arrived in Sydney where we were greeted at the airport by Stevo and Dan. Who wisked us off to the digs in kings cross to dump our stuff and get sorted before heading straight out with Stevo to check out the sights Sydney has to offer and of course a beer! You know your in Oz when your in Sydney, walk round a corner and your greeted by a views of the Opra House, or the Oz copy of the Tyne bridge... Quality!
Had a pretty jam packed first few days in Oz, which is why we flew into Oz when we did.
A good friend of mine Dan was getting married in Palm Beach which is about 40 minutes north of Sydney the day after we arrived.
And the day after was my 30th Birthday... 30 ya say Dave - you don't look a day over 25!! :o)
Basically had a great time - a lot of friends had flown in for the wedding, so we all headed up to Palm Beach. Was an amazing day, the venue was fantastic up in the hills looking over Whale and Palm Beach. Everything went really well, Melody Looked amazing and even Danny Boy scrubbed up well.
Palm Beach is were they film Home and Away... picture postcard Ozzie beach really, so not a bad place to wake up on your 30th Birthday, sun shining, head down to the beach. Sorted the hang over right out - Good times!! After that BM, Wanna, Foo, Charlotte, Katy, Stevo and I headed back to Katy's in Sydney, where we met up with Ben to start the Birthday celebtations. Kelly and Macca flew in from Melbourne, Ben who we traveled with for a month or so in SEA moved his flight forward from Hong Kong so he could be there. The Irish girls we met in Ha Long Bay had also just landed in in Sydeny so they popped in to have a few Birthday drinks as well. So a Big THANK YOU to everyone there who made it a great day.
The next day everyone flew home, Melbourne, Singapore, UK etc... Ben and I stuck around in Sydney for a few more days taking in Katy's hospitality and the wonderful sights of Sydney, bit of sun bathing on Bondi and Watson's Bay with Katy, caught up with some friends from our travels.
Next up it was time to head south to Melbourne, to stay with Stevo and Tam for Christmas and New Year.
Straight away I liked Melbourne, seemed to be a great city with a great vibe, but b***** me its hot in summer. Was all very strange being hot and sunny for Christmas... just doesn't feel right, I'm used to it being freezing cold and dark at Christmas.
Was a great day... Ste and Tam did an amazing job, we even cooked the Turkey on the Webber (BBQ), they made a home made Christmas Pud. Ben and I sorted out a tree. And of course we all drank and were very merry! :o)
Had some big nights out over the festive period - as you do!
Boxing day was a Kings of Disco with Joey Negro and Dimitri from Paris - AWESOME!
New Year - we opted for SummerDaze on New Years Day which is a massive all day fesitval, Carl Cox, 2 Many DJ's, Danny Tenaglia to name a few! Such a great day...
After all the fun and games of Christmas and New Year, we decided that Melbourne was the place we wanted to settle for a while - so we needed to find some where to live and a get a job!
Which is exactly what we did... Ste and Tam put us up until we found somewhere which was amazing of them - BIG THANK for that.
Kelly and Macca where looking for a new place the same time, so we all decided to get a place together. After much hunting around we settled on 108 Palmerston Street - The Gaff down under for the next 6 months!!
Work - Got myself an IT contract for 6 months working for a Hospital in Melbourne.
More to follow soon on the amazing time we spent in Melbourne...
Big Love
