Weekends in London - Autumn 2nd Half term
Just to let you know as to what we've gotten up to on our weekends during the school term here is a very very short highlights list.
• Went to see "Thriller" the musical. The music of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5. Very cool timing with this. We went on the Saturday night and he announced his comeback shows the following Wednesday. I was hyped up enough about the man already from the thriller show, that I just HAD to get tickets. Which I did, but I have to wait until January to go and see him. This same weekend we found a chinese supermarket in Chinatown and I bought a box of 40 packets of Mi Goreng Noodles. Yum. I made Dan lug them around the city with us, and then out to West Ham.
This was Dan's highlight of the weekend. We went to see West Ham v Manchester City play in the premier league. Atmosphere was fun, but the game was as boring as s***. 2 hours I sat there and only 1 goal was scored. No wonder everyone gets drunk at the 'football' - their bored silly.
• We went to see Ross Noble (he's a comedian, Mum) on a Tuesday night in Southend. He was funny as ever, although much more difficult to understand over here, as his northerner accent became much stronger. It was a late night home and very hard to get up for school the next morning
• We had a weekend in Chelmsford with Matt and Jodie. It was lovely. Nice town. We drank a little too much, but it was a great night.
• We also spent a weekend in Englands Gay and Lesbian capital, Brighton. I loved it. It was just a fun, seaside city. Some describe it as London outside London. So many pubs and nightclubs and Hen and Stag parties. We drank too much, well I did, trying to get a real feel for the city. We explored the beach and the famous Brighton Pier, with the amusement rides on the end of it.
• Hannah and I also celebrated our birthdays and went out for dinner with Matt and Jodie, Anna, and Belinda to celebrate. Nice food, even if it was just the local Indian place in Benfleet.
