We woke up in Hoi An nice and early for our bus to Hue. We got on the bus at 8:00am and headed out along some amazing scenery. Part of the journey took us along a section of mountain which was amazing and the journey gave us loads of amazing scenery to look at. When we got to Hue we got a taxi and checked into our hotel - we got showered and sorted and tried to sort our bus for tomorrow to Hanoi, however this didn't go quite to plan, as we spent the rest of the day out and never got around to finally sorting it! However we had an amazing day looking around the imperial city, which consisted of half a city, 2 moats, 5km of wall, many buildings and an hour cyclo tour!
On our cyclo tour we travelled around the outside of the purple forbidden city and saw a few (not so great) newer sites, the best thing was we got to finally do a cyclo tour! We finally got dropped at the forbidden city where we we're walk grabbed our ticket and took a brisk walk around (as we only had an hour to see it). We walked back along half of the city walk, which was 10km total so we were all fairly walked our but still managed to squeeze in the night market - this being the first genuine market we've seen. After the market we grabbed some food, strangely the place we are at was where Pat and Jen wanted to ask about a DMZ tour as this is the place they use Vietnamese veterans as guides! When we got back to the room we found out that our ticket wasn't available for the next day so we planned to join up with Pat and Jen and rent a couple of bikes and see a bit of the countryside and then do a DMZ tour and bus the next day. By this time we were all really tiered so we got an early night in preparation for tomorrow.
