We started today aboard our sleeper bus and when we arrived at 10:00am in Phnom Penh we were told the bus to Sihanoukville wasn't leaving until 12:30. This meant we had time to get a drink and some good and wait out the next two hours, they passed quite quickly and we jumped in a mini bus to get our next bus. The next bus was a local bus with dreadful aircon - this made the next six hours very, very hot, however me and Hana were both engrossed in our books so didn't really bother us. We has about ten stops along the way, to get more people on the already crowed bus, to drop stuff off, to fix the over heated radiator and to pick up a few bits of shopping the driver wanted. If you have kept track of the times the bus was meant to be 11 hours and In fact it was actually 17.5 hours, which means it takes top spot for longest bus!
We had already, thankfully, booked a place to stay so we grabbed the first tuk tuk that wasn't trying to rip us off and headed straight there. Our room was really nice and very clean - so clean that it still smelt of fresh paint! All feeling pretty hungry we headed out for some great food and a few beers. On the way back we thought we would see what the casino was like (there was one next to our hotel) - as we walked in it was rather strange, brightly lit, high ceilinged room with not a lot inside it. They had an electronic roulette, some slots, a weird fishing game? And a form of black jack I've never seen. This was made worst by the fact the place only had locals inside, feeling a little awkward we made our way back to our rooms and got some sleep!
