We finally got out of Mendoza after spending a bit too long there. (9 days in total) and we headed north to the Salta Province and we are in a town called Cafayate. Yet another wine making town. We have been to see 'another' waterfall, only to get to this one we had to scramble over bolders, traverse the river, climb up mountains, aquire a guide on the way and we finally made it. Its much quieter here than Mendoza, which means that we get better nights sleep. ...

Mendoza is great - only been here a day, but it already looks like being a great city. We are going to go wine tasting, hiking/ biking/ rafting (maybe) and if we are really brave, we may even do a sky dive.. Will be in touch again soon, xxxxx

Advancing Glaciers in the Parque Nacional Los Glaciers! We have never been so in awe of anything in nature as we were when we saw a 60m high pillar of ice slough from a 2km x 30km glacier into icy waters, only to be rewarded 60 seconds later with a submarine sized crystal blue iceburg leaping back out of the water! wow the town is ok. but built around ice. good for horse riding and trekking. off to catch a boat through the chillean fjords for 4 days. ...

WOW! We love it here. The weather is clear, if not a bit cold. The backdrops are amazing The colour of the trees vivid yellow against the bright blue sky! Fantastic area for hiking and biking. Really good atmosphere, and cheap accomodation, although the first night without blankets was a mistake as it was 0 outside and 7 in the room.....brrrrr Spent a few days here and then on even further south to El Calafate to see an advancing glacier! From the French Buenos Aires to the Swiss Bariloche! Didn't spend long here - mucho costo!! Stayed one night in a hostel and met some cool people.. Scenery is amazing here! A huge lake with a backdrop of snow capped mountains!....brrrrrr! Moving on to El Bolson , 180km south. Mucho lovo...b&z xx
