So, Ben left off as we were leaving Saigon. From there we boarded our internal flight to Da Nang, which was cool. Suz you're right, Vietnam airlines is the best. Was only an hour flight, but you get to watch the take-off and landing on the monitors, Ben was as excited as the little kids.
From Da Nang we got a taxi to nearby Hoi An, which is a small town by the sea which is a Unesco World Heritage site. We had a fair idea of a few hotels we could try, but when we arrived we found that loads of places were full! We hadn't expected to be wandering the streets, literally trying to get to places before others did. Luckily we found one which had just had a cancellation, very lucky. Hoi An is the home of the most tailor shops you will ever see, literally 90% of the buildings. We got some suits made and sent home, so hopefully they will make it! The women who worked in the tailors were really funny, chatting away and giggling the whole time. We obviously had no idea what they were saying, but was amusing. We've found that the women in Vietnam are incredibly giggly, always laughing and joking. There are a few sights to see in town, things like merchants' houses, as it used to be one of the main port towns in Vietnam. It is very pretty and it was nice to spend a few days chilling in cafes and wandering around. Some of the restaurants were really good and made awesome cakes and fruit drinks.
