Left Valdengo to tackle the Italian traffic on our way to Lake Como. Stopped to cash up at a small and old village. Very narrow streets with tiny balconies overlooking the street, and lots of concrete. Lots of time on the autostrada to get to Lake Como, quick swim in the Lake, drinks on the balcony then onto dinner for pizza and pasta. This is living!!

Left Albertville with a short ride on the autostrada then climb out of the valley up the Col Du Petit St. Bernard (2188m). Beautiful scenary on the way up, quick photo shoot. Departure into Italy and down the valley for a coffee stop. Change in architecture from France. Short climp up through Italian villages with a stop at Verrayes. A lunch stop for beautiful Italian salad and pasta before yet another climb thrigh some more villages. Stop overnight in Valdengo ...

Lovely day in Albertville ride up tp a beautiful dam for lunch, then a goat track to get back to accommodation after quick stop in Beaufort. Walked up to historic town for traditional French 3 course meal.

Lovely day in Chamonix, shopping and seeing the sites, cable car up the mountain with coffee at the top. Only went up 3/4 of the mointain to take in the sites. The restaurant being the panoramic view of the ski fields, which involved 2 cables cars to get there. Departed at 4pm to have to stop at Saint Gervais as the Tour de France was in progress and roads were closed. Watched the end of the race on the big screen prior to departure. Up at 7 start the day with a cold shower in Fluelen Swizterland, as there is no hot water. Not the best way to start a day, but 30 minutes later the stunning scenary washed away the memories of the cold shower. Set off at 9 to start the day with 2 passes - the Sustenpass (2224m), and the Grimselpass (2165m), through the heart of Alpine Switzerland. With snow still on the top of the Sustenpass.
