Hey so I arrived in Rio this morning, flight was delayed taking off so I was worried about meeting hannah but it ended up arriving early. Our flights landed within 1 minute of each other and I spotted her as i walked into customs following me so really convenient. Had to walk miles in sheer humidity with my bag, rucksack sleeping bag n pillow. meh. But we got to the hostel, saw lots of Rio on the way. Hostel is ok, kinda absolutely stinks though. in a 12 bed dorm but not too many people here yet. Has free wifi though :) gotta be careful with our stuff tho cus doors dont get locked.

Flight was good. i slept the whole way here so i feel ok today.

Me n Hannah went straight out into Rio, wandered around a bit then as girls do, headed straight for where we guessed Copacabana Beach would be and found it! It was really dull n cloudy for a few hours but then the sun suddenly shone through and neither of us had put on sun lotion so as u can imagine us typical brits, we're rather burnt right now! sat on the beach until 4 then decided to go for a wander, and come back to hostel so i can let me family know im safe and well.

Copacabana itself was different to what i expected, it was quiet and i havent felt unsafe here in Rio yet. The beach has a bad reputation but it seems ok. il put a few pix up when i can.

Natalie is due to arrive in an hour but itll take her ages to get to the hostel so be another few hours but its given me and hannah time to get to know each other.
