Hey so its been a while since my last update and has been rather nonstop. but thats good.
So left off last night in Rio in my last update. We decided we'd go to Ipenema beach by daylight then go back at night, taking public buses. we thought we were all good, got on a bus and went the wrong way, itd just come from there. 3 hours later we arrive back at Copacabana, absolutely hilarious. the bus terminated and we were telling the bus people where we wanted to go so had to get back on another bus! 3 hours. yes really. we went through every single part of Rio i think and 100% went the whole length of Rio, was really funny for first 2 hours then kinda got irritating.
Anyway next day we sorted bus to Iguacu falls, Brazil and it was 23 hours. we had several stops and a quite bus for first 6 hours til we reach Sao Paulo and then it was full with Brazilians. got some tips for buenos aires from a guy from there which was good, cus he translated the portuguese for us too!
So we arrived in Hostel Bambu in the morning got ready and went straight out to the falls. that was absolutely spectacular and we all felt so auxilherated. it was unbelievable. We went into the middle of where the water was flowing and crashing around and stood on the lookout platform, got absolutely drenched but its worth every second. the best experience i have ever had. just unbelievable. there amount of rainbows that were going into the falls too was amazing.
we did all the Brazilian side then went back to the hostel to chill by the pool. yes a pool. this hostel was like luxury compared to the one in Rio! Had a beer by the pool in the sunshine then got changed and ready for dinner. went out after happy hour, and the guy Eddie at the bar had made us Caprihinos (duno how to spell them). they were mainly alcohol, seriously too strong that i couldnt actually drink it! had a bit of dinner and got back to the hostel at 11pm ready to go out as it was sat night and last night in Brazil. The friends of the people who work at the hostel invited everyone to Paraguay to a rave, its an annual event that around 10000people go to. so who the hell would pass up the opportunity to go party in another country then go back to brazil in the same night. not us. so we all piled in a minibus and got driven to Paraguay. had a few issues at the border cus there was an american guy with us but it was sorted eventually. when it hits evening the border police dont follow as many procedures as day, didnt even have to have our passports stamped, just looked at i think. gutted i didnt get the stamp tho but i have some paraguyan money to prove i did go there haha! so we got to the rave at about 1 am and it wasnt due to kick off with DJ until 2am. there is also an hours time difference between the 2 countries so people from paraguay poured in their thousands at 3am for us!
they played some heavy beats lol. lots of beer flowing, tequila and they put on cool dancing and circus acts in the middle of the area. at one point the clowns handed everyone masks and we all had to put them on and dance for a while. there was a tv crew going through the crowds interviewing, and i made sure i got my face on it, and an official photographer who took a pic of me hannah and natalie then took our names for the website. cant find the website though :( i will do when i have time.
we got back into brazil at 7:30am and had a few hours kip, then checked out at 11 and went to Argentina, Hostel Bambu still, sister hostel. this is a really nice hostel. been given a free pineapple dacquiri :)
We went to the falls on this side, only had time to do the devils throat track but that was absolutely amazing. love that place.
so thats where we are up to. Tomorrows plan is Iguazu in the morning until around 2pm then travel back to hostel get stuff and we have a bus booked for 5pm. we have also booked our next hostel for Buenos Aires for 4 nights so all sorted and know where we are going next.
Loving every minute out here. Hoping everyone is well at home. xx
