hello!

well the weather has been fantastic this week........i wish that wasnt a lie! It has rained basically everyday and the sun has just come out today! not very good when youre away to start fruit picking next week as the crops will still be wet and possibly might not end up with a job! In the meantime we're heading to bundaberg which is 5 hours up north to a working hostel on sunday so fingers crossed we get work, running out of money here!

Ive really enjoyed being in brisbane though, my friend who i worked with in glasgow has moved out with her friend lynsey so we've spent some time with them which has been great, We all went to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane, aparently the only place you can cuddle a koala and get your pic taken with it. The one i held was called teresa, was so cute.. though a bit smelly, the one audrey held was called sumo - was quite big compared to ours! Also got to feed the kangaroos and wallbays, i was a bit wary as i heard they were all vicious, but they were all really friendly and got to give them a pat aswell.

We all went out at night in a suburb called fortitude valley and had a great time, audrey brought a friend of a friend called martin - poor man being stuck with 5 women!! celebrated Australia day with all the aswell at the man made beach and south bank as there was alot of things going on, even went to the irish bar for a few and caught the fireworks!

Most of the days it has rained so kind of just being going for wee walks into town etc, tryin to save some money. A couple of days ago we meet my friend jen who lives here, i worked with her in stirling royal and was great catching up, went to a nice italian and a few drinks in the irish pub, im still trying to find a scottish pub but there doesnt seem to be any!! We went for a walk to the botanic gardens, was nice and then headed to the man made beach where we went for a swim in the lagoon...untill it started raining!

heading to bundaberg on sunday so will give you hostel address as its my birthday soon, would be nice to get a few cards as im feelin ancient!!
