This is the trip we had both been waiting for even though te stress of waitin to hear if we would be going or not kind of put a dampner on the start of he trip it soon dissapeard. We let te hostel at 8am for a 4 hour bus ride to Halong bay. Everyone was hungover so we slept most of the way. When we got to the port we got on the boat and it was funny as it was so formal, all he tables set for 6 people, didnt realy look like the booze cruise we had expeced. Evryone piled in and were soon served lunch wich was a selection of dishes that everyone just shared and the food was pretty good.
Eventually the music got going and the hangovers were soon recovered with plenty of beers. Everyone was chatting to eveyone ut we me Luke and Conner, 2 guys from London and 4 Aussie lads, Lachlan, Tom, Will and Will. Afte a few hours theboat stopped for a swim so everyone was diving off and all sorts of bellyflopping, backflipping competitions took place.
We arrived at Cast Away at about 5.30pm and were shown to our huts, it was the same as Chaing Mai, matresss and mosquitos nets on a bamboo patform. We got a hut with the boys and a few other randomers. Th whole island consisted of abut 8 huts ad one larger one that had the bar and tables. The beachhadfrisbee, badminton, volleyball kyaks so eveyone was just playing onthe eachwith beers untill 7pm when dnner was served. The second tey hit the gong eeryone pilled around the table as the beer had kicked in and everyone was starving. By the time the food as gone everyone as lined up down the hue table playing rinking games, lie the Haybarn game, flipy cup, rin of far, the chicken goggles game loads more. Before long vryoneas rthe drunk dancing on the tables people had fancy dress which i was jealous of so I switched with Will for his funy looking shirt.
At about 1am everyone got in the sea to swim with the plancton it really does look cool, its like swimming with fairy lights. Eventually the party died die nd we were thelast ones up. The funniest part of the nght was gettin into bed for an hour Conor just had us in histerics, every single word that came out of his mouth was hilarious and we HAVE NEVER EVER laughed so much or so hard in my our lifes, all the other huts were getting so annoyed but we think it was just because they were jealous that they werent in with the fun. I wish I could even remeber half of the things he was saying but there was just too much. The next morning when we all woke up even with the raging hangovers he was still just as funny.
Breakfast was eggs, bread, fruit and coffee. The morning was pretty quiet with the lack of sleep and hangovers so me, James, Luke and Conor got out kayaks to go round the islands. As we peddaled off 2 girls jumped on Luke and Conors so it took them ages with one paddle to catch up to us. The effort was far too much so we decided to head back, but we noticed something odd about the boys on their Kayak.......the Kayak had dissapeard, we couldnt stop laughing as we paddled over to these 4 heads and a paddle bobbing about in the middle of the sea, they had sank their kayak it was so funny, I mean who manages to sink a kayak. 3 of them had swam to the jetty but Conor had cramp so was clinging onto the side of a boat that had refused to help them try save the kayak which was by that point completely gone. We paddled him back to shore before falling into histerics that they had sunk kayak.
The funny side soon changed as they guy went crazy and told them they would have to ay $500 between them to replace it.
We were all so tired so most of ended up having a nap and james went of tubing. I finally woke up much more refreshed and ready for the afteroon activities. First of all we did rock climbing. James went first but didnt get up too far as itwas quite hard and second because it was so hot we were both just sweating far too much for it to be fun. Iwent second and thought id try the other part of the rock set up for climbing, I got about as far as James and then got stuck and then scared so was screaming at the guy to get me down. Second we did wake boarding. I wasnt really too keen on the idea but went on the boat and after watching the first lad go i decided to give it a try. I failed, the first attempt I got up for a few seconds butevery other time I ended up flat on my face and with a hangover, sea water is not the best thing to be drinking. James was so good at it with him doing water skiing before he was a natural and looked really good showing off one handed. It was now early evening and after a few games of frisbe and badminton it was beer o'clock again.
The second night wasn't as much fun as the firts as another group arrived so there wasn't enough space for everyone to play games around one table, so everyone seperated into their own groups. We started to playt the reps drinking games but neither one of us were drunk ebough or fully recovered from the night befires hangover to play by their absolutely bonkers rules. We had more of a chilled night and I think most of our hut were the first in bed but it didnt matter as we had had the best night, the night before.
In the morning we were all up at 7 as the boat left at 8. We stocked up on eggs and bread before the 5 hour boat trip and 4 hour bus trip. Everyone was so tired except 4 irish lads that continued their games till we arrived back at the hostel. It was funny at first but soo annoying hearing the same things a millions times.
That night we met all the ladsd for a few drinks and to say our good byes as we were all going our seperate ways the follwing day.
The last day we spent the day lazing about in the hostel before our overnight bus trip to Hue.
