What more can I say other than WE DID A SKYDIVE!!
We arrived at about 9pm but because I'd not been feeling too well we went straight to bed knowing we would be throwing ourselfs from a plane the next day.
THE DAY OF THE SKYDIVE!!!
Well both woke up not nervous at all, we booked in for the 12pm one so sat round the pool all morning waiting to be picked up.
The hostel we stayed at was called Absolute Backpackers and it really was the nicest one we have stayed in yet. Open kitchen so all the benches were together outside so everyone would always sit together, really nice pool, huge bbq area and a big lounge with corner sofas and a big tv.
So 11.30 arrived and the nerves had started to kick in, before we knew it we were signing our lifes away at Bali Hai skydive centre. My hands were sweating so badly and James, well the most stressfull part for him was deciding whether to buy a video or dvd as he couldnt afford. Thank god he at least got his photos as we all said he would regret not getting the video and he does but, the pictures are really good.
We got taken downstairs and introduced to our guys that we would be jumping with. Mine was awfull. We got put into our harnesses and made our cheesy little speach for or video. So embarrasing and then got onto the bus for about a 20 minute drive to the airfield. The drive was quite relaxing, watching the scenery took your mind off what your about to do.
Next thing we were pulling up in front of the smallest plane, propellers and all. On we got sitting backwards strapped up to our guys. On the way up they keep videoing you and taking pictures. It felt so scarily high and the guy said 'right were half way' half bloody way, the blood drained from my face, I think James left his on the ground I have never ever seen him look so petrifeid. I honestly feel like the adrenalin just took over my body as I really cant remember feeling anything past this point, it was like some bizzare dream. After about 20 minutes we got up too 14000ft and from here on it was a blur, the doors opened and that was it first guy gone. I turned to look at James and he was like, 'becky I cant do it' he didnt get to finish his sentencxe as before I knew it he was gone. Watching your boyfriend been thrown out of the plane is not the best feeling but again within seconds it was my turn.
OH MY GOD!!!!!!
I cant not even begin to explain what it feels like, all I remeber is blue, dry ,mouth and a jerk......it was like I had blanked out down the whole free fall and the judder of the parachute brought me back to life. The views were amazing but my god it was crazy exciting amazing but also the scariest thing ever. At one point he started spinning us around really quick and I got so dizzy. I was trying to look for James but couldnt see him any where. After what seemed like a lifetime we were plumeting towards the ground and finally I saw James and have never been so happy. My legs were like jelly and I honestly didnt think I would be able to stand up. Jame's face had the biggest smile I have ever seen and he had loved it. My response was NEVER AGAIN!
As we were walking up the beach back to the skydive centre I honestly couldnt believe that I had done it, everyone was asking how it was and I felt like my body had gone and jumped but my brain was still sat in the centre nervous waiting to go. Its the most bizzare feeling I have ever had and am still speechless when I try to sum up how it was.
We got back and got our Dvds, photos and certificates so we put on my dvd. One word...HILARIOUS! I never realised how yorkshire I sounded but oh my goodness how embarrasing, oh and not to forget the choice of words I use on the way down which is very obvious (parents and Grandparents I do apologise in advance for the slow motion of the F word but im sure you can understand why =) )
The rest of the day was just filled with crazy feelings that we had both done it and were still on a huge high. Oh and we went on a free bus trip with the hostel to see the wallabies that where all over peoples gardens and fields full of them like sheep.
That night we cooked up a feast of spag bol followed by a few litres of goon and plenty of drinking games.
Amazingly, after all this time in Asia we met I think 2 northerners but this night every buggar was northern, either sheffield, hull, leeds it was great we had such a good night. Well untill the police came because we were being too noisy so off we went down to the beach and gate crashed some old couples camp fire.
The following day we all chiled around the pool together which was nice as everyone in the hostel made really good freinds. That night all hungover we piled into the lounge for movie night and free popcorn.
Up early the next day as were off to Townsville.
