When we arrived in Mui Ne the sun was shining, the waves were crashing and the scenery looked amazing. We tried to book into the same hostel as Ashley & Flo but it was fully booked so we paid a little extra for the Full Moon Beach hotel next door to them. It was a gorgeous hotel. I'd say it was one of the nicest we had stayed in apart from the 5 star in Ko Samui, but obviously that was going to be nice. We was so close to the sea, you could walk down a small set of stairs and you was in the water! We went out that night to sample the nightlife with Ash & Flo, and found some really good bars. The only problem was that it was too quiet. Apparently bars got busy around 1am which was no good to us as we were out way too early! We chilled chatting & drinking in the Dragon Bar, and laughed our heads off at some poor pole dancer falling off stage!!
The next morning was spent chilling catching some rays and getting battered by the huge sea waves, it was awesome to be back in the sun and by the sea!! Plus the kite surfers, windsurfers and jet skis were out in force which was very entertaining to watch. I wanted to have a go at kite surfing but it was an 8 day course! Boooo!
After lunch we met up with Ash and Flo. We had all chipped together to hire a jeep to take us to the sand dunes. We also met Jo who was from Wigan (yes! another northerner!!!), Alice, Anika & Helen who joined us in another jeep. Ash had met the girls when he did the cycle ride from Dalat to Mui Ne. It was fun to be with a group of girls! Our first stop was the fairy river. It was apparently lucky to walk up the river and make a wish, so we all took our shoes off and got in. It was more of a stream than a river that looked extremely dirty! But once you was in, you realised it was the golden sand bed that made it look that colour and it was in fact quite clean. Half way up the stream, there was a pen where you could ride ostriches. A few of the girls had a go & Flo got on one & very nearly came off the back of it! I didn't want a go cause I felt really mean on the birds. It wasn't fair on them and I really didn't like it. As we were getting out of the water, a huge herd of cows headed through which was pretty cool to see, especially being stood in the middle of it!
After climbing back into the jeeps, we headed to the sand dunes with a quick stop at the fishing village on the way. The dunes were amazing to look at and even better when we hit the sand with quad bikes! Me and Roz shared one and bombed around like lunatics! We got stuck a few times and had to pull the quad out of the sand but it was all fun... This time Flo did actually fall off the quad and roll it!! 'Don't be lazy... Be crazy!' as he always says!
