The nicest city for food in Vietnam!
So as I am now getting bored of writing we did this, we did that and then we went here and then we went there, I'm going to try something new as suggested by our new Northern friend Jo!! A poem! Ha, let's see how this goes....
Hoi An was beautiful, one of my favourite cities. It was cultural and colourful, and full of little kitties.
The river ran through it with lots of little boats, and candles were lit and put into the water to float.
The tailors here were famous for making lots of clothes, so off we went for a dress fitting, ha let's see how this goes!
The woman in the shop was very bubbly and fun, she was impressed with my boobs & kept touching my bum!
I designed a navy blue dress made of cashmere and lace, and left her to work on it at her own pace.
We trekked through rice fields to see a Japanese grave, we acquired a vietnamese worker as he called us over with a wave.
He showed us the rice and how it grew in the mud, and he let me play with his slingshot as I pelted stones out with a thud.
We explored Hoi An old town which was a beautiful UNESCO site, we did this on a tuc tuc bike as the guy peddled with all his might.
We saw the Japanese bridge and headed to Morning Glory, of course we laughed at the name but that's another story.
The restaurant was famous for being one of the best in Hoi An, I must admit I definitely was a huge fan.
The cuisine was extraordinary, fresh and delicious. We ate papaya salad with lots of scrumptious little fishes.
We met up with Lynn and made a cool new friend, Ash shared the same journey with us right to the end.
He comes from down south and is fun and bubbly, he is placid and adventurous, the boy is quite lovely.
The nightlife was fun as we drunk vodka in the Backpackers, I'm sure they put ethanol in the drinks that made us totally wackers!
We couldn't find a taxi to get our arses back, so we jumped on the back of a motorbike.. it was a good crack!
The next morning was rough as my head was banging, we headed back to the tailors where my dress was hanging.
I looked at it in disgust as I didn't like what I could see, but kept my mouth shut until I tried it on me.
I shouted to Roz 'I really don't like it!', but then we pulled it and shortened to make it fit.
The woman assured me it will look really nice, I wasn't convinced but that had to be suffice.
We took part in a class to learn how to cook Vietnamese, we cycled to the market to go shopping with ease.
It was pouring down on the way so we got wet with rain, it made it more adventurous though so it wasn't a pain.
We learnt to make banana flower salad, spring rolls and clay pot fish, then sat down to eat our feast... Wow it was delish!
We headed back to visit our lovely tailoress, and she gave me what was finally a lovely handmade dress.
The girl had worked her magic as I tried my outfit on, I loved it and was happy.. Yes, thank you, C'est bon!
We went to see temple ruins that were nearly a thousand years old, the trip to My Son was ok but too many tourists and it was cold.
The tour guide was an idiot and rubbed us up the wrong way, plus he looked like a scally and you couldn't hear what he had to say.
The hand gesture he made when he was asking for money, was not clever nor polite and not one bit funny!
For lunch we went to the Cargo Club for an amazing chicken wrap, it was so tasty and delicious it deserved a big clap!
We headed to book the bus for the following night, when they told us it was full we was like yeah right!
They put us on an an early bus which was a nightmare from hell, just have a read of my next blog.. I'm surprised I survived to tell!
