Last stop in Vietnam! Ho Chi Minh City!!
We've hit our last stop in Vietnam,
At Ho Chi Minh city we are.
Our first point of call is to meet with the girls,
And drink beer at the rooftop bar!
The group was together once again,
It was lots of laughs and good fun.
We danced to the Fresh Prince like lunatics,
Our messy night had begun!
Hungover & tired we dragged ourselves up,
To visit the Cu Chi tunnel.
It was very intriguing and full of selfies,
That made me and Jo chuckle.
The tunnels were small and used in the war,
It's where the Vietnamese people hid.
They were extremely narrow and suffocating,
Worse than being in a box with a lid!
You could hear guns fire at the shooting range,
'Yeah I want a go at that!'
I shot an AK47 into the fields,
Yes! I was like a girl in combat!
After talking all day about Pizza Hut,
It was our first stop when we got off the bus!
It made us all smile as we ate yummy grub,
It was definitely worth all the fuss!
We headed back out to Phạm Ngũ Lão Street,
Where all the backpackers hung out.
It was rammed packed full with lots going on,
We were in for a good night no doubt!
The bars were simple with plastic stools,
And everyone spread along the street.
It was cool and sociable with lots of chat,
The only thing missing was a beat!
We drank and played games till stupid o clock,
Giving Anika a send off she would not forget.
Even though I knew from all the shots and the drink,
That in the morning my head would be full of regret!
When I climbed out of bed,
the hangover was harsh and I was feeling really rough.
But I dragged myself up as it was New Years Eve,
And plus cause I'm really tough ;)
We headed to the top of the Financial building,
to drink cocktails and watch the sunset.
It was really cool seeing the Vietnamese get ready,
And decorate all the streets for Tet.
The place was alight with lanterns and fun,
As preparations for the new year had begun.
The year of the horse made it all that more special,
And the glittery horses were as bright as the sun.
We celebrated the Chinese New Year up at the rooftop bar,
To watch all the fireworks light up the sky.
The party was in full swing with cheap beer flowing,
People were dancing and spirits were high.
To sum up our visit through Vietnam,
We headed to the war museum for our final day.
The history of this country has been extremely interesting,
I have learnt so much I can now say!
