Alright, so I am not sure who the genius was who put me in charge of the itinerary for this trip, but I may have overlooked a few things... such as 8 hours on a plane, with 6 hours before the train leaves, with 5 hours on the train to Scotland does not make for a very fun day. But that is what it was. 8 hours from Houston to London.The plane ride was bearable, we each got our own television, and could choose from numerous movies and TV shows. The line for customs once we got into the UK was unbelievable. It took over an hour to get through. Then we had to travel on the 'underground' to get to the train station, where we still had a few hours to kill until our train left. So we went to a local pub, relaxed for a few, got some snacks for the train. Finally when our train left, we had about a 5 hour ride. We slept most of the way, but it was cramped, and we were super glad to be off the train. We had to catch a bus from the train station in Edinburgh to our hostel, which was roughly a ten minute ride. Finally we arrived at our hostel, which was a pretty great place. More on that in my next blog.
