Becky Bravo's Adventures
Today we arrived in Ireland! Both of our planes were a little late, but Kristin and I were lucky enough to find each other in the Dublin airport. I had a momentary freak out as I realized we did not come up with a back-up plan in case either one of us had cancelled flight, or missed a flight, or anything of the sort...and Kristin's plane was quite late, and I could not remember what city she was coming from, but all was well, because we did find each other.
We took a cab to our hotel, and were a little upset about the traffic and high cab bill, but little did we know that U2 was in town. They were the reason for all the traffic, and we had NO clue that we would be in Dublin during this concert.
Our hotel here was the most expensive out of any place we stayed, and shockingly enough, it was like the cheapest place in all of Dublin, especially since U2 was here.
So, we find this pub (who yes, were playing U2 and showing U2 concert DVDs), and ordered some dinner - veg pizza and yes of course, FRENCH FRIES! It was pricey, but since we shared, not so bad. The drinks are what were ridiculous. 9 Euros for a glass of beer. So we asked what the specials were and found that they had a Chocolate Truffle Stout for only 4 Euros a glass. Awesome. We got that and it was....DISGUSTING! But, what are ya gonna do. It is probably a good thing that we are here for only a short while.
Kristin had a harder day of travel than I did as I just had to take a shuttle bus thing to the London airport and get on a plane. The city she stayed at in Germany did not have an airport, so she had to take a cab, charter a boat across the water, then rent a donkey, which then took her to the helicopter, which dropped her off at the bus station, which then took her to the rental car place, to which she could then drive to the airport. No, no, I kid. But she did have to take a train to a bus to a cab to the airport, or something to that effect. It was a rough day on her, needless to say.
It was about 10:00pm or so and we were both tired, plus it got really cold, so we went back to our hotel room to get our jackets, and thought it would be brilliant to just lay down, and take an hour nap, and then we would go hit the town. And if we have learned anything from this travelblog, it is that our plans, are always flawless. So we layed down for a little nap, and you guessed it - slept through the night.
