Hello from Sucre........
Sucre was a beautiful city...one of my favourites in Bolivia I think. Our hotel was wicked as well and had kind of an old style French feel with a pretty little courtyad in the middle. Becky, Becca and I had quite a lot of our meals at the Joyride Cafe..we ate here with the group on the first night and went back out of laziness a few times!
On the first day quite a lot of the group did activites but we three chose to chill out. Partly money and partly our need for a lie-in! After our lie-in we headed out to explore Sucre. We found an internet cafe with Skype and spoke to the 'rents. It was so nice to talk to them and I babbled to mine for ages about the trip. We researched and booked some accomodation and Machu Picchu trip. We had to organise ourselves again as are leaving the tour in a few days in La Paz. Tricky stuff after being looked after for 2 weeks. We browsed the shops on the way back and then to the hotel to change for our night out.
We all headed out for a few drinks tonight- celebrating being in civilsation again. We had dinner with the gang at a steak restaurant. It was good food with a gorgeous view of Sucre square as the sun went down. After dinner we had drinks in the courtyard of the hotel and then back to the JoyRide cafe bar. It was a fun evening with various members of the group involved in some dirty dancing and some on the bar dancing (I won't name names!) After the bar closed we were taken by some Bolivain folk to a party/bar. It was ok but I think we all felt a bit dodgy so left in a pack pretty soon after.
The next morning we were pretty hungover and struggled to make it up for check out! Left our bags at hotel and did a bit of shopping in the markets. Next went to collect our washing from the laundry and some drama unfolded. We had heard from the others that lots of clothes had been mixed up so we knew it wouldn't be straight forward. They mixed up all our clothes and lost some of Becca's. She was understandably annoyed but this being South America they said they had given them all back to us and there was not a lot we could do about it. We made a quick dash to the supermarket for bus journey snacks and water and then it was time for our luxurious bus to La Paz
Bye Sucre......
Love to everyone
