Our final log in India :-( .............Our last week in India has been pretty random, starting with our journey from Munnar to Cochin. We caught the bus at 6.30am, after about 20mins it stopped due to an apparent 'road block' just outside of Munnar, we then caught a rickshaw with some random guy who told us that we could catch a bus on past the 'road block'. After having enough of boulder-watching we continued our journey south to Kerala - this involved a night train to Bangalore and then another night train to Ernakulam. In Bangalore while queueing for tickets we met up with a couple of American/Canadian med students so we befriended them for the day and lazed around the botanical gardens in Bangalore and then caught the train together to Ernakulam. After recovering (almost - Charlotte's hair is still pink) from the Holi celebrations we then embarked on our two day journey in the quest for a beach in Goa. We had to get a night train from Udaipur to Ahemadebhad, a day train from there to Mumbai which was horrendous due to us having unreserved tickets which meant we were sat for 10hrs on hard wooden benches squashed together with so many other people, not pleasant! We have now reached the final leg of our Rajasthan tour as we are now in Udaipur. This weekend is the Holi festival where India celebrates the start of spring. This celebration involves setting off fireworks in the evening followed by burning huge bonfires in the streets. After travelling hundreds of miles we are now in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Since our last log we have visited Jaipur, Ranthambore and Pushkar.....JaipurWe thought Jaipur was a s*** hole! It was smelly, dirty, the people were really unfriendly and drove like complete maniacs! Need we say more!
