The Holidays Have Arrived!!!!
Week Four:
So, the half term holidays had arrived...two weeks of amazing weather!!!...Maybe not.
Since the taxman officially hates me so i didnt therefore have anyy money from the school, I decided it was best to trip up to my Aunty Lucy's for the holidays to chill and save my moneyy.
The bus ride although verryyy long (6 hours to be precise) was actually quite interesting as the bus driver commented on every place we passed with detail meaning i was again learning new things about New Zealand whilst nomming down my potato chips :D
When I arrived in Papakura I was greeted by My aunty uncle and Sophiee...who wanted to play all day long "come rebecca" "sit down rebecca" cute! :P.
The week was spent visting the zoo, chilling in the little good weather we did have. And going to the beach...to see the rain.
Ohh yeahh and to hear thunderstorms and have Tsunamii!!!! (ok it was only 48cm longg but it happened!!!)
So this was my first week of the hols...A chilled week with the Family....Beaut!
Week Five:
The second week of my holidays included me going to my aunty's school t help her with a bit of schoolwork before the hols ended and the inspectors came!!! However I decided to pass on the second dayy and instead stay home and make an AMAZING bannofee pie...yum! Oh and talk to jonny whilst doing this of course :D
We then headed off back to Napier, where I would be staying with my aunty and uncle's friend Lance, we went to the rugby although it mainly consisted off My Aunty Luce saying :"Now I've seen his legs on the telly...aren't they nice?" Yeah. Nice to know how u keep up with the game Aunty Luce :P
I also found loads of amazing wineries right on my doorstep! (Well Jeanines and Rene's but what they have a spare room i can steal :P) and we went to the nicest cider factory!!! Yumm Cider :D...deffo will be visiting that again at some point :D And discovered the place I will be getting married...Cragg Range-just beautiful :D.
We had a look up Te Mata Peak...a mountain in Havelock North....where u can see the whole of Hawke's Bay...the view was just amazing.
And so, before we knew it...it was time to say goodbye and go back to our everyday workk :/ Feeling glum I resorted to chocalate bed && A DVD.
Week Six:
The WORST week so far!!! I was just about coping with my homesickness whenn everything went wrong.
The taxman had sent me a letter letting me know that I did not need a tax code and therefore was going to be taxed...meaning the school had to sort everything out although payday was the next day so ANOTHER two weeks without pay!!
Then idiot here stood on my laptop screen and jumped at hearing a *crackkk* and yes, u guessed it, my screen had a hugeeee crack meaning nothing would come up...meaning no music or Dvds to play in my room :'(
And then last of all my phone got stolen...cue me bursting into tears in the computerr room with another student who was having a worse week than me! It seems to me when something goes wrong over here its 10x worse than what it would be as it takes a lot of phonecalls and time to manage to get things right again as I'm a million miles away from home...although whoever stole my phone seemed to of realised how important it was to me as they managed to pretend they'd never even taken it by smuggling it in one of my hats...Idiots!
However, The weekend seemed brighter with th lovely weather coming out to play which meant town time with the girlies and playing in the fountainn to cool down...genius!!!
Week Seven:
LABOUR WEEKEND!!!
Ahh, the joys of pointless days off u dont even kno what ur celebrating...
I'd invited Kim down to Napier for the weekend from Masterton whilst staying in the hostel, however she did not break up until Friday meaning I had to spent two whole days in there alone!!! (Luckily it wasnt TOO bad) However, when Kim arrived I was worried there would be nothing to do so we went to the cinema to see Fame right after our Mince n Cheese Pies....(Best creation ever?!?!?!?!?!)
Fame was a dissapointment, but we cheered ourselves up by trekking to Pak n Save and buying some alcohol (With the money my Aunty so kindly lent me :D)
I had heard there were some bars in Napier around the Port, but was not entirely sure how it all worked exactly, so me and Kim took a VERY long walk only to realise we still wernt where we needed to be...however, the views managed to keep us entertained and I'd managed to see a whole other part of beautiful Napier which I never knew exsisted :) we eventually gave up and decdided to stop off at the chippie..(Can i just point out that if u ever want fish and chips in New Zealand remember to bring ur own fork??? I asked v.politely if they had any plastic forks as they do in England and got greeted with a laugh as though i was stupid!! "Were not a resturaunt love!"...which meant me eating my fish with my fingers....Hmph!)
Me and Kim had given in and decided to book a taxi and just ask the taxi driver where all the bars were...he dropped us off at a place caled "The Thirsty Whale" so we stepped out to admire the view (and finish off our wine we'd poured into a water bottle as not waste it...classy ladies :P)
When we entered the bar was half dead, it was 10 o clock and we were too early...Yes!!! Too Early!! However the barmaid told me that about 12 it gets turned into a night club and the real partying begins...and my god it did!!! Whoever said Napier was a crap night out had obviously not been to the thirsty whale....I even tried new things...Jagerbomb and Springbox....Yum!!!
The next day Hannah dropped me a txt asking if we wanted a ride to the beach, although it was a long way out it was definately worth it, the beach was lushhh with hardly anyone on it...just amazing :). Then we went up to Te Mata Peak again to show Kim the views and watched a few airgliders (I think thats what u call them??) it just looked like such a calming thing to do...
The rest of the day was Wine, Pizza and falling asleep through the film :P
Week Eight:
This week hasn't been very interesting. Although Wedensday taught me that although I didn't feel like I was, I am actually helping a lot of students. Two people were coming up to me asking me to help them with their work and one of the drama teacher's told me how one girl had written in her portfolio how handy it was having me help her...ok so thats not a lot of people but still, it's someone.
Perhaps I'll trip out to the cinema again tomorrow as some of the girls are desparate to see MJ's film but need me to go with them...Or maybe go to the gym??? Hmmm...decisions decisionnss :P
Hope youu likee this!!! Missing you all and Love youuu!!!!
