So we had to take buses to the old capitol Ayutthaya, 4 hours in total on the worst buses imaginable! They left the doors open (oh how my skin loves 4 hours of gail force winds!) and the seats were made for midgets! There is a photo to prove this - even the thai people were laughing at me trying to get my knees behind the seat in front of me!
Eventually we arrived and we went round more temples, I worked out I was born on a Wednesday and you have your own personal Buddha for the day of the week you were born - mine was quite boring I would of preferred Saturday as that has dragons! Also Wednesday's colour is green and also black - it's the only day with two colours!!
We also looked at the Buddha head that grows in the tree routes, so all in all it was a bit of a Buddha fest! That evening we headed to the train station to get the overnight train to Chiang Mai; here we experienced the worst toilets on the trip so far - I went once and only once - I would rather wet myself then go again and apparently it did get worse as the journey went on. I had a great nights sleep, in fact since the trip started I have been sleeping soundly - unlike the rest of the group! Of course the Americans have been okay as they have got hold of sleeping pills!
It is worth noting that since being with Jack the leader we have eaten in cheaper places - average 2 quid per meal but I am not drinking alcohol! Pad Thai noodles are less than 1 quid (sorry no pound signs on these computers).
