Beki and Steves travels
we got up early and went to the Katherine gorges
our walk was approx 8km in total, to one of the gorges and a waterfall.
after about half an hour we arrived at the gorge and wow it was wel worth it, it was beautiful. there was an aboroginal art work area near to the viewpoint so we had a wonder to have a look. after half an hour fooling around on rocks we noticed it was inaccessable as it was across the river and with the river overflowing because of the rainy season it was impossible to cross. we did see another fantastic view of the gorge mind.
we arrived at the waterfall after a unexpected tough 'trek' downhill. when we arrived it was superb.
we had a swim and a bite to eat, not even the rain could dampen our spirits.
on our way back we decided to go on a loop walk that would give us another view of a gorge. again it was wel worth it and we bumped into some peeps from our hostel, which was bizarre.
we arrived at the visitor centre just in time to bump into Steph and Steve!! they were about to do a cruise. after a quick chat we both had to go, nothing stops in the world of travelling!
leaving our hostel at 4 we braced ourselves for the long journey that was about to come
(we did have some photos of the gorges but unfortunately our camera dissappeared on the greyhound along with our Katherine photos)
