Albuquerque will be likely be my shortest blog (hooray I hear you cry!) since I was only there for an afternoon and be brutally honest - there isn't much there! It's saving grace was the nice sunny weather which let me continue working on my tan as I walked over to 'Old Town', a tourist trap if ever there was one but it was a sweet little area of shops and restaurants with 'authentic' Mexican and Native American shops pushing trinkets and painting and shawls - mainly run by the ubiquitous Chinese shopkeeper! Despite that I had some good tacos at a little hole in the wall, as well as picking up some hot sauce which should be interesting to try…if I dare. My main positive experience of the city was actually upon leaving the train when I asked a nice old man if he knew where the luggage pick up was - prompting him to escort me round and keep me company for 5 blocks as I set off walking to the hostel. He did also insist on carrying my bag as well which I felt bad about as it's pretty heavy but he insisted - people are surprisingly polite out here!
