A relaxing day at sea.
Today we had a lay in of sorts...well 08:30 am is a good lay in when you have been getting up at 05:30! I gave David another lesson in basketball by winning all three games this time. I am doing him an injustice though because all our games are now very close and I don't think it will be much longer before he starts beating me.
I remembered a couple of things from yesterdays fish market visit....well, one thing really. Nestled amongst the fish stands we did actually find a stall selling shirts, including a Busan football shirt. Dave, of course, bought the shirt but has had to stuff it away in the cabin because it reeks of fish!
I have attached some photos of the view from our balcony as we left Busan too. Enjoy :-)
After breakfast today we have pretty much chilled out in between attending both the morning and the afternoon trivia. We came second to a team of six this morning, this is the same team of six who beat us into second on day one too. This afternoon, armed with a couple of nice Aussies, we really went for it. The categories fell nicely for us and, when I say us, I mean David. Firstly Geography which of course he excels in. (I helped a bit with a question about Spanish speaking countries beginning with C!)
After geography, I barely concealed my joy when the quiz master announced the next category would be maths. When she went on to ask for the number of prime numbers between fifty and one hundred with extra points for knowing the actual numbers, I could have squealed....David was already halfway through the list of ten prime numbers before she had finished reading the question.
As well as the maths we also correctly answered the question about who Elvis's still-born twin was...most people incorrectly going for Aaron instead of Jessie.
At the end of the quiz whilst she was reading the answers, our Nemesis's were happily cheering with us at every one they had gotten correct. Then came the maths answers. Deathly silence fell over their team at this point and it was our turn to cheer loudly. I think we knew then that they were a beaten bunch. Turns out they are a team made up of 4 teachers and 2 lecturers....clearly not maths teachers though!
It was a sweet sweet victory and we will need to try and do it again because, as our team of four was leaving, their leader said 'we gotta let someone else win it sometime'. oh....really!?
Anyway! enough quiz talk, we were just excited to have won. Tonight is the first formal night and Dave will be donning his tuxedo whilst I dust my ball gown off. I might not usually like wearing dresses and being all girly but I actually don't mind it at all on formal nights. It is all part of being on the cruise.
Oh...I know what else to tell you. David MADE me try a bloody mary this morning. Tomato juice, Worcester sauce, horseradish....all decorated with pickled onions, a stick of celary, olives and lime. Really? I managed about half of it before I started to wish it was being served hot with a bread roll. That mixture should be in a soup, not a cocktail. Dave loves it though and plenty of Americans think it is the best way to start the day.
We have been in and around the pool quite a lot today. Sunny skies, about 86 degrees and the seas are calm. On route now to Taipei where we shall arrive tomorrow. We have booked a tour now and will be seeing the 101 building and also some temples and craft markets. Bye for now!
Happy birthday Nick!!!! xxx

Nick Thanks! Sounds like a great trip so far, and I'm sure the cats will like Dave's shirt.
Gary Adams Your pictures bring the stories to life. Glad to hear of your quiz victory. Give them another beating next time.
