yeees Lauren's back!
Wowsers .. what a busy couple of days. Not that we were complaining about the weather but the last couple of days have been overcast, which has been a slight relief. Sydney is awesome, lots to do, really cool bars, far to cool for us Brits!! :-) Last night we dressed up (well wore semi-decent clothes - rather than Millets shorts and fleeces) and booked a swanky restaurant next to the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. It was to be an all round treat for us as well as staying in an amazing hotel, also swanky with large plasma and 'mossive' double bed!Almost city slickers until we yet again donned our shorts and back packs.
Today we headed to our basic hostel, before the Sydney Bridge Climb. I will be honest, I was ready to poop my pants! Gav was excited but I was just plain s***ting a brick! Twice I cried; mainly the bits where you could see through the wire mesh walkways. Luckily they put the nervous dickheads at the front to lead.... oh good! However, after the crybabying we walked 2000 metres and made it to the top for a dorkish group photo. It was definitely worth the views, with the sun shining and boats sailing in the harbour - it was awesome.
The 'swankiness' continued into an amazing 'Meat and Wine Company' restaurant which served us the most amazing steak and bottle of red! All round an amazing day.
Sydney is cool, sophistocated, contemporary and vibrant (all my words-not Gav's)
You need a good few days in Sidders, however New Zealand is calling. We fly to Christchurch Thurs night for 10 days around the South Island. We will be back before heading up the East Coast to fit in a visit to the Blue Mountains,
Love to everyone,
Love Lau & Gav
