We've spent most of the time here in Makarska just relaxing. The temperature has been hot--93 today, and if you're not sitting in the shade doing nothing, you are toasty.

We wandered around the main tourist area yesterday, checking out different things. Had lunch at a place on the beach--prices here are more expensive than the other countries. It's crowded but we've been told it's not high season yet--can't imagine what it will be like then! Think it starts on a week or so.

We got to the beach early this morning to claim a spot. It really didn't begin to get crowded until around noon. The water is so clear, it's amazing! I'm getting used to the rocks now and actually like it--you don't have to worry about sand getting into everything.

We are driving to Plitvice National Park tomorrow, no border to cross (thank God!), so it should only take us about 5 hours to get there. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so if you don't hear from me, could be no wifi signal.
