We caught an early train into Florence and met up with our tour group without any issues. They had us board a double decker travel bus and away we went towards San Gimignano. It's a medieval town built in 59 BC, all stone and full now of shops and restaurants, hotels and tourists. We drove over to La Spezia train station early this morning...it didn't go as well as we'd like, as we made a wrong turn on the expressway and then got lost near the station and ended up driving through a pedestrian only area. :( We will most likely end up with a ticket for that, it will be mailed to us.
