Retired & Traveling
At sea all day again today. Pam and I had a bit of tummy trouble this morning--fortunately for me, mine cleared up late morning, but she needed to stay close to "home" all day. :(( Good thing we didn't have any excursions today! I went to the gym and then sat in the hot tub for an hour, trying to loosen up my back. I think sitting on the cramped buses for hours at a time has aggravated the situation. The water wasn't hot which is why I was able to stay in so long. After cleaning up, Rich and I went to Sabatini's (Alfredos) for pizza. They make the best vegetarian pizza--loaded w all kinds of veggies and avocado. The place was crowded and we ended up having to wait for about 30 minutes for our food, but there was a nice couple sitting next to us and we passed the time chatting w them. After lunch, we went to a lecture on our next port, which is Huatulco, Mexico. It was held in the Princess theater and OMG, the place was PACKED!! I've never seen it so crowded. We snagged the last two seats, which was lucky cause a bunch of people were still standing at the back. I thought it was boring, but I guess a lot of people wanted to hear the speaker. I needed a nap after that, Rich went to the pool, Pam was still on the balcony sewing and Mike was reading. We all met up at 3:30 for bingo--didn't even come close this time. Phooey. We had a glass of wine on the balcony, the air temperature was just perfect for sitting outside. The water was like glass for as far as we could see! The restaurant was serving Chateaubriand steak, which I had but Pam wasn't feeling up to 100% yet, so she had some plain chicken. Rich and I were invited to a cocktail party with the Captain after dinner, so we headed over to that. It was a private party for all the platinum and elite members. We both had a rum punch, which tasted like just punch, but coupled with wine, it was packing a punch! :)) We got to meet the Captain, who is a little guy and I believe he's from Italy. His accent sounded like it anyway. They gave away several bottles of champagne, but we didn't win. We met up with Pam and Mike in the theater for the evening show which was a production put on by the Princess dancers and singers, a tribute to New Orleans. It was good but I thought the musical the other night was better, maybe because I knew the songs more than what they sang about New Orleans. It was late after the show, (9:00 is late to us LOL), so we all headed to our rooms. Rich and I started watching a movie on tv with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling and actually stayed awake until it ended!
