Retired & Traveling
We have a very nice room but OMG--there is a strange noise that randomly occurs at various moments, which sounds like a champagne cork popping -- LOUD, happened all thru the night and woke us both up and then made it difficult to sleep. We think it has something to do with the construction of the ship, but who knows? You know it's bad when the waiter at breakfast commented on how tired I looked this morning! :))
We arrived at the Princess Cays resort in the Bahamas on the island of Eleuthera about 9:00 am. The seas looked a little rough due to the wind and we wondered if the tenders would be running.
After breakfast, we went down to our staging area for our tender, since this port is not one we dock next to. We had a priority ticket to board the tender and got right on the first one. The ride over only took about 5 minutes. We had rented one of the small bungalows which was air conditioned and included a catered four course meal! We had a great location and thoroughly enjoyed using it.
The weather could not be more perfect, nice breeze, sunny and about 75 degrees. Life is good! We were wondering what all the widget makers were doing while we were basking in the breezes. :))
As much as we hated to do it, we packed up and headed back to the ship. After a quick shower, we were ready for dinner and decided to join fellow passengers instead of sitting alone. We sat with northerners who were enjoying escaping the snow, one couple said they'd heard their area got 16"!! I had duck, Kathi had surf and turf and we waddled back to our room.
We perused the TV movie options, found one we liked and settled in. We are losing an hour tonight due to time zone difference, and since we were both exhausted from our popping noise last night, we turned out our light pretty early.
