Today was not the most exciting day really. due to our crazy Travel agent booked us through a major wait in athens. We got to Corfu island at about 8 pm and got a taxi that took us to our hotel, about 45 mins away.
I fell in love with the place immediately. For one, our taxi was a mercedes bendz decked out with leather seats, huge sounds system and everything! It was very different to anywhere else we had travelled. it was a little less westernized. There were people ok little vespas zooming everywere. Houses full of bits and pieces. people with baskets of fresh fruit and veggies coming home to cook dinner. It was fantastic. Out of the city we got a view of the sea, it was blue, actually bright blue - unlike any sea I had seen before. The sand, was made of pebbles, and there were virtually no waves. Resorts littered the sealine was we curved our way on the windy road.
It was really beautiful, warm and so lovely! I could not wait to jump in the sea tomorrow!
Our hotel was just as good! Made to look traditionally greek with the big white curved arches, blue decore and big spaces, the room looked out onto the sea, as far as the eye could look! It was very nice at night too because for some reason the moon was blood red! A camera couldn't even capture it!
The hotel had a massive pool and spa, and a great pool bar that looked over the beach. it really was perfect.
That night however, we were knackered, so I went down the road to a cute little cafe, got a massive greek salad ( and a free yoghurt! Yay for generous greek people) and we crash pretty early!
