Our day exploring Paris started with a yummy Brekky, which was annoying because it was super hard to get out of bed - it was so so cold! I was walking around with numb legs for the first part!
Anyway we hopped on the bus and battled the Paris rush hour traffic to get right into the city. We got dropped off outside the eiffel tower, but decided not to go up it this time because the lines where about two hours long!
Instead we wondered through the city heading towards the red light district and the basilique du cacre-coeur. A famous castle that has some really cool views of the city.
Wondering around we saw some amazing things, people trying to rip off the tourists, fights between shop owners, the little pastry shops, crepe shops and bread shops.
There is so so much fantastic food!
We walked up to the arc de triomph which is surrounded by the most dangerous round about in the world, and infact, it is not possible to be insured when driving on it!!!
We then walked down what is seen as one of the most famous and glitzy street called the chence de lezile. There was a cafe down this street that michael Jackson went to and requested a cheeseburger, but they weren't able to give him one!
There where shops such as chanel, louis vitton, and many more that I can't pronounce. T was really cool! Halfway down the street we decided it was going to be a long walk so decided to brave the metro.
It was actually pretty easy after some help from a handsome French guy! We hopped on and arrived right outside the Moulin Rouge. It was a great photo opp!
The wondered the very entertaining streets for a while looking at all the clubs and even a "sex museum" before turning up a little side ally, found a great sandwich shop and went to sit on the castles lawn for lunch.
But not before we saw jess downing, a girl from our high school. Weirdest experience ever!!!!
Anyway after a quick lunch we hopped back on the metro back to the eiffel tower to meet for our afternoon bike tour with fat bike tours!
It was one of the coolest things ever! We took the really old school bike with huge seats and wide handles and rode them around all of the big sites. We went to the louvre, military school, eiffel tower, fountains and statues galore. I almost crash a billion times, but that's cool! it was a little hard to control the bikes when there are 20 of you and you are all biking in a huge group!
We over took roads, screamed around corners, even had a race (which I totally failed at) it was such a cool way to see the city!
After all if this biking and walking we were pretty tired, which was good because it was time for topdecks traditional " feast under the eiffel" where we all got to eat the most amazing foods right under the tower !
It really did have things from all over the world.
Salmon, meats, crab, fish, snails, macaroons, marinated chicken, cheeses, fruits like star fruits. It was great!
But that's when the party started. While some chose to go on a cruise, us younger ones had our first night out ..... In Paris!
We walked to a cute little cocktail bar to start with which was great because we were already a little drunk from the picnic, I had a cocktail called sex on the beach which was yummy, but i have to admit since I haven't drunk much so it went straight to my head!
We then relied on trusty franno who took us via the metro to the Latin district, were we were told is the place to be. It wasn't. It was pretty dead, even for a Monday night!
We did end up finding a pub, which was ironically an Australian themed pub and everyone working inside was Australian!
We had some more shots and I was very happy! We met some pretty funny guys here, a french actor who could not speck English very well but loved me because I was a filmmaker and two boys from Amsterdam, called Jon and jorn. Both blond both hilarious accents! We hung around this pub for ages having a blast trying to understand what the boys where saying. Then the french guy decided to take us to a near by club. It was a gay bar.
We were worried about entrance fees two, however supposedly because we were girls, and more importantly English! We were able to get in for free! Supposedly this happens a lot in clubs throughout Europe!
It was a cute place but by this time people were getting tired so a few people took a taxi home. We however wanted to club so again mr drunk French man said he was going to take us to a club. Why not! We said so now our group, which had narrowed down to six, myself, Sarah, Amy, Jon, Jorn and mr French guy hopped out of the club and down towards the metro.
Number one tip for clubbing in Paris - don't trust the crazy french drunk guy.
We wondered the metro for about an hour while he tried to work out where we were and where to go. He could no longer speak English so it was pretty funny but a big fail. We even started being followed by three cops because we were down there for so long.
Anyway, long story short we got to the club and after a severe look over by the door b**** - we were pretty scraggly from a whole day of walking around - we got in.
We even got our 20 euro entrance fee paid for by Jon and Jorn!
It was the best club I've ever been in! Awesome lights, 80s music, super glamourous old French women and everything! We danced for ages, had drinks bought for us ( 85 euros all together geez)
We got super lost on the can home and it took us about an hour and a half to get back! Lucky the taxi driver was nice and only charged us 40 euro!
Had a great nights sleep!
