Hellloooo...we are in Phuket on the west of Thailands southern gulf and have been here since sunday morning when we flew over from Ko Samui. our last couple of days on Samui we stayed in a place called Mae Nam in a resort cunningly titled OK Village. Fortunately not an ironic name. It ws much quieter than Chaweng and our days consisted of beach...beach...munch....beach. not bad i spose. the place ws clean and did the job, tho it ws a bit 2 quiet and had a bit of a funny feelin about it. Mae Nam itself is very picturesque and withing seconds of arriving Bavin ws climbing rocks and liberating imaginary creatures and probably pirates in his head. We flew out at 8.15 am on sunday and arrived in phuket about nine. we then went down to patong where we spent longer than anyone has ever spent looking for a place to stay. we even encountered some 25 stone viking in his speedoes in a danish bar on our merry quest. eventually joe stumbled across a place called bangla house which has been our home for the last 2 nites. in his heroic search the poor little lamb encountered his first sunburn and ws a blithering wreck fro the rest of the day. yesterday ws joe's birthday which ws marked by the excellent event of bavin being stung by a jellyfish. his jellyfish knowledge ws very good and he declined all offers of urination to stem the pain on the grounds he "knew these jellyfish were not acidic" or sumthin like that. previously to that bav and sedge went parasailing while joe took the photos. joey and sedge went banana boating the next day and bavin played with the camera. we will try and get the photos up soon but this internet place is slow and expensive. the weather here on the whole has been scorching...hotter than the sun to coin a phrase from our certain mincing monsoon friend. tho yesterdays celebration of joeys birhtday ws partially accompanied by a severe rainfall that left sedge quaking in fear of his newly cut hair beingmucked up, especially as he "likes it now cos its grown a bit". we celebrated joeys birhtday with a few diet cokes in the local library and a good time was had by all. tho the diet cokes appear to have given bav a hangover somehow? strange place thailand... anways hope that updated u all nicely, we will put photos up asap so watch this space... keep ur messages coming on the message board, especially the tall anonymous men from bognor. love to all bav, joey and sedge xx
