Off Exploring
Yesterday was a very lazy day. We pretty much hung out in our room most of the day watching TV and being lazy. We did go to the dining room for lunch since we had not done that yet. I really liked it and wish we had done it a lot more! They offer a menu and a buffet. You can do one or the other or you can do both. I got a salad from the buffet and a meal and dessert from the menu. The meal was decent, but the dessert was the best we had on the entire cruise. It was a caramelized banana something...I have no idea how it's pronounced and I can't remember the name. It reminded me of banana cream pie and it came with a scoop of pecan ice cream.
For dinner we had our reservation at Chops. I think it was okay and my husband loved it. I got the french onion soup for my appetizer, which I loved. My husband got the Cesar salad and peppered bacon. We both liked the salad and he loved the bacon. I didn't but I'm not a huge fan of pork.
For our entrees he got the filet mignon and I got the petite filet mignon. His was better than mine because it was much thicker. Mine was still good, but I would recommend getting the full size because it's a lot juicier. For dessert I got the mud pie. I had been looking forward to it all week but it was a huge disappointment. It wasn't mud pie at all and I'm not sure why they chose to call it that. It was a huge piece of really rich chocolate. It was okay, but definitely not mud pie. Kyle got the cheesecake which was also just okay.
Final thoughts on Oasis of the Sea:
It's certainly a very impressive ship and is definitely worth seeing. It's massive and I loved all of the different neighborhoods. That being said we aren't big fans of Royal Caribbean and I think that this will be our last cruise with them for a while.
