Off Exploring
I finally graduate with my master's degree on June 13. I tend to not acknowledge my accomplishments, so when I ran the idea of a cruise by my husband to celebrate he was all for it. Since I've been interning almost full time and he's working full time we barely see each other. We don't get any days off together. Once I graduate I'll be getting a full time job and then these long vacations won't be happening for a long time. We've been talking about having kids soon, so I think we won't be doing any 7 day cruises for a long time.
I've always wanted to go on the Oasis of the Seas but it costs twice what most Carnival cruises cost, so we always just went on a cheaper one. I'm really excited to get to go on this ship. We have only been on one Royal Caribbean cruise so far and we prefer Carnival, so hopefully this one will better our opinion of Royal Caribbean.
Since the ship is so big they suggest making reservations for things ahead of time. I've booked all of our shows, lunch at their sushi restaurant, and dinner on our last night at the steak restaurant. I only have one shore excursion planned, which is really weird for me. We're doing a salsa and margarita making class in Cozumel, Mexico. The other ports we will get off of the boat for a while, but I plan on spending more time on the boat than off to do everything. We're going zip lining on the boat and we'll try out the ice skating rink and maybe the florider.
I'm really excited to go. Usually time goes really slowly when we have a vacation planned, but I still have two weeks of internship, so I know the time will fly by. On Saturday the 21st we're getting up bright and early, dropping our dogs off at doggie daycare, and making the 4 hour drive to Fort Lauderdale. I'm hoping to be on the boat by 1 or so.
We splurged and got a balcony room again. I think it was only about $100 more for the entire cruise. They have balcony rooms that face inside the ship, but we decided to go with the more traditional ocean facing balcony room. I want to see the water as much as possible.
