we arrived at rainbow beach and checked into are hostle the people were really nice we had a group meeting and were put with 4 swedish girls josathine, everline, marline, somthing len. also two boys martin and fin who wer german. the first thing we needed to do was go food shopping for the 2 days this was easyer said than done, due to their being 8 people all with diffrent taste and diffrent cultures. after a hour in the supermarket we managed to agree on the basic shopping for frazer island.
we woke up the next morning and got the cars ready their was 3 jeeps and 27 people. we hit the road and within 10 mins we were on the beach waiting to take us to frazzer island, frazzer island is the worlds biggest sand island and has no roads or building their is a few shops and basic accomidation but only has about 200 people living on the island which is 70km long by 20 km wide. we got of the ferry and went to a lake called ***** the lake was so clear you could see 3 meters down the blues lake i have ever seen. we was both shocked at how warm it was must of been 30 degrees it was like a massive bath. we played football on the beach which is really tiring running in sand is so hard. ones we left we headed to a diffrent lake are tour guide said it was his favoret place. we got out of the cars and had a 1.5 km walk throught the rainforest we got to these massive sand dunes and at the bottom of the dunes was a butifull lake it was like a oasis. the fish wereso tamed you could touch them.
we headed back to the camp for the night and cooked the BBQ and drunk goon ( dirt cheap wine which has no grapes in it made from fish eggs NICE !!!) we went to the beach and played around with are cam writing things in the air. we then went back and had marsmellows on the fire. the next day we had a earlyish start with a lot of people hang over. we didnt know were are group member fin was and tryed finding him then he just walked into the camp site with sand all up his face we said were have you been to his reply i dont know i just woke up and i was in the middle of the dirt road about half hour away. funny times. we went to thhe ship wreck which is a boat which got beached 80 years ago while being towed from aus to japan. the tow line snapped and they couldnt get it un-beached so they just left it their. the next stop was a place called champain pools which are rock pools that fill up when the tide is and when the tide goes out stay full and the fish get stuck in the pools the aboridginies use to wait then catch the fish. we then went up to a place called india head which is the higest place on the island from this point we saw sharks and sting rays in th sea. we headed back to the camp had dinner and started playing drinking game we started with drinking uno then got onto ring of fire their was about 12 of us playing and it got really messy.
after a wet night due to the tent leaking we woke up had breky and then went to leave to head back to the main land but we couldnt get back due to the tide being right in we had to wait 2hours till the tide went back out.
we got back to main land and decided to have a group dinner and all chill out which was great tomorrow were heading to brisbane.
