Hello all!!!

What an eventful 24 hours it has been! after a great flight and getting straight to the hostel relatively easlily we found out they didnt have our reservation! After calling 40 hotels/hostels and any accomodation we could find there was nothing. Eventually 3 hours later we slept in the chillout lounge at the hostel which was pretty terrible as we slept with our heads on our bags as there was no proper lock!

Anyway - today we got our proper room and got stuck into Brazil! We walked the length of Copacabana and Ipanema whilst drinking from a coconut! Walked around the lake in lagos (think thats the name! - just behind ipanema) before heading to the botanical gardens! They boasted a huge rose garden which turned out to be a few roses that all looked dead!

To finish the day off we went to see Christ the Reedmer statue which was amazing but it started to thunderstrom towards the end! Anyway all is going well now and just been for some Brazilian food on Copacabana - looking forward to the rest of the week but for now Im off to bed as im knackered!
