Pedro de Moel is a very small holiday town with a lovely central square where we enjoyed a couple of long relaxing lunches.  The beaches are lined with pine trees and walking and bike paths.  The campsite, like the village was very quiet just a handful of people staying with well laid out amenities.  We are finding everything pretty cheap as coffee seems a standard price of one euro and one euro for a beer.

The drive from Guarda again took us through some lovely scenary, this time a glacial plateau mainland Portugal's highest mountain range. Mountain people still live in the traditional one room stone casais (huts) thatched with straw tending the odd sheep or goat. Our jourey to Guarda took us through the mountains between Spain and Portugal. We took a route down small winding roads which took us through tiny little villages and came across Mirander del Castana the most amazing village in Spain we have ever seen.
