Friday morning Treffen mit Silke und William, first breakfast then we got the Ecovia to Quitumbe = Quito South Terminal, took 45 mins, really far out. There got bus to Baños I think it was. clases de cocina @ ecole idiomas, typical dish for ecuador: cebiche...with prawns.. it's basically loads of onions, tomatoes, prawns, tomato sauce, pepper, sugar (yes,sugar), salt .. what else??? it think that was it. it's cold, so not a warm soup, more like a cold one. it's served with popcorn, maiz tostado (similar to popcorn) and fried banana slices. interesting combination, but tasty. it was fun, we all got chef hats and off we went, chopping and stirring.....

hola a todos, this weekend was just unbelievable, it is hard to find words that express how beautiful, exciting, fantastic Ecuador is. on saturday we were picked up very early in the morning and went to cotopaxi vulcano, the 2nd highest vulcano in ecuador. we drove up to 4500 meters and from there hiked up to 4800 meters, which took us an hour given the altitude. after a break at 4800 meters we went up further to 5000 meters!!!! what a feeling to be standing at ...
