This morning we said goodbye to the cottage and hit the road towards our destination lighthouse! First stop on the road of course was a visit to dear old Mr. T Hortons as we were all very sleepy from a restless night. Turns out skunks like to roam and let off steam by our cottage quiet frequently and the aroma was so awful it woke us up in the middle of the night.
Luckily at the light house we now only smell the fresh sea and can hear the rolling waves. Our room backing faces the water and the view is spectacular! The view was even more beautiful at 4:30 when we crashed a wedding wing held right on the beach in front of us :)! We watched as the setting was created, we put on out dresses, did our makeup and hair, and stood on our balcony as the ceremony began!
We ended our night with a tour up the lighthouse museum and then took a stroll down the beach. On our walk we collected beautiful rocks. We also picked up some spitting clams which was very neat and funny. I was sure to place them down gently just as they were as to not make them dizzy or upside down ;). We walked back through the water on a sand bar enjoying the quiet serene setting.
The inn is a beautiful little building and the perfect end to our visit to PEI!
