Hi All, its me again. Well I survived the trip up the mountain, we started heading up on a train, then switched to a cable car. I think what helped was the fact that the higher we got the less visibiity we had. Unfortunately we didnt get to see much once we got up top. I decided to partake in a glass of schnapps to calm my nerves, it was so not butterscotch schnapps tasted more like rocket fuel.
We also went on a cruise around Lake Lucerne in Switzerland which was just beautiful, apparently on a clearer day you get breathtaking views of the mountains. However it was still lovely.
We spent today travelling from Switzerland to Lietchenstein and spent some time in the capital Vaduz, spending what was left of our Swiss Francs. In Vaduz we were able to get our passports stamped for 2 euros. Then we travelled from Vaduz to Innsbruck in Austria. As we approached the border our tour guide Natasha asked us all for our passports, explaining that most times the border guards dont even look at them, but in our case they looked at all 32 passports and gave us all another stamp.
Once we arrived in Innsbruck we had some free time to explore and then we went up into the mountains to a village and got on a wagon style carriage drawn by two draught horses. It was really quite magical weaving our way along with views of the mountains and forest. We stopped off and had some schnapps, much nicer than the schnapps that I had on the mountain. Then we continued our carriage ride and eventually stopped off for some Mull Wine, yummy, never had it before, it flushed my cheeks.
I am now at our hotel and have found this free internet access so thought I would post a longer update. However, as I am pretty tired and we have an early start tomorrow as we head to Salzburg (Sound of Music country) then onto Vienna to stay for 2 nights, I will bid you all goodnight.
Blog you all soon xx
