BULA!!

Oh My God. How beautiful is this country? We are both completely gobsmacked at the natural beauty of all of these Fijian Islands......it's truly amazing.

We flew into Nadi on Saturday and stayed at Smuggler's Cove in Nadi Bay which we thought was beautiful enough. Then after a very early start, we got the boat to Oarsman's Bay which is the furthest north you can go in Fiji and it is stunning. You literally are transferred by catamaran to a little fishing boat which pulls right up onto the sand and you dip your feet in the crystal blue water as you are greeted by Fijian musicians playing and singing for you. Yes, it does sound like something out of a book but it's true and it's beautiful!

We were shown to our Bure (beach hut) which is at least 10 or maybe even 12 paces from the shore line and got straight on the beach as it was nearly 100 degrees. We then spent the afternoon sunbathing and snorkelling (with marine life and fish equally as good as The Great Barrier reef) and relaxed on the beach.

Later on, we showered and went for dinner which is included in the ridiculously cheap price we paid and sat and watched the sun go down. It was AMAZING!!

The island we are on has only 3 villages......no roads.....no cars and 1 phone line! Everything they need is bought in daily by boat from Nadi and I must admit, this feels just like being stranded on a desert island but without the worry of how to get off!

We will be taking plenty of photos but probably not rushing back to put them on line so you may all have to be patient this time! Apologies that some of you are having trouble with the videos....we will see if there's anything we can do this end.

Anyway, Laura is on the beach as I type and I don't want her to get more sun than me so I'm going to have to make my goodbyes, pick up my cool beer and step the twenty or so paces to the beach! It's a tough life but someone has to do it!!
