Well I have come to the end of my time in Melbourne, and Australia!!!
Hello all, yes it is true! On the 6th April I head to South America and a whole new genre of travelling!
Grist and I left Sydney on the 27th March to begin our last leg of our east coast tour, and first stop... Jindabyne. There we stayed in an impressive log cabin that looked out over a large lake, which was lovely. Our new bus of people had a big meal together and everyone had a great night with killer pool competitions!
The next morning I was rahter hung over but managed to go for a 10km walk to the 'Blue Lakes', which was great. After that we all had lunch near the lake whilst Grist went on a banana boat!
After that we headed for Buchan region. After a long drive we stayed at a Bhuddist retreat! It was quite an experience and we tried meditation after a vegitarian bean crock!
The next morning we drove through Fosters and stopped to go mini golfing... I won! We also did a few small walks too. Later in the Evening we arrived in Melbourne.
When I arrived in Melbourne I was met by Jennie, whom I had met and got together with in New Zealand! It was awsome to see her again after three months. Jennie kindly gave me a place to stay for my time in Melbourne at her flat at she is working here. That night Jen and I met all the guys from my bus and we went out drinking, although I didn't drink much.
On the 31st we slept in and Jen and I didn't do too much. That night I met Grist and we met up with his Ozzy cousin. We all wen tout drinking and had a heavy night! After a while I left and went to meet Jennie before we went home.
On Sunday 1st Kate, Emz, Jennie, Grist and myself went to the Melbourne Flower Show, which was quite an interesting event. The evening was spent with Jen watching a bit of TV bore bed.
On monday I met up with Grist and we spent the day wandering about town and buying bits and pieces for my iminent Peruvian trip. In the evening everyone went out for some food and then Grist, Jen and I went to the cinema.
On Tuesday Grist and I spent the day on the tourist bus checking out the sights. Unfortunately I have sent my memory card for my camera home with Gristy so I have no photos of the past week for the site until I get home! We checked out Melbourne cemetary, the Law Courts, Uni, and the Rialto Tower! All were pretty cool. That night I took Jen out for dinner at the docklands to a place called the 'Blue Flame', which was nice.
Today Grist and I met up with Kirsty whom we met on the bus down the coast. We visited the Olde Melbourne Gaol and that was ok. We also went shopping for the last remnants for my Peru trip. I bought Jen some white lillies, some of her favourite flowers, as a thank you and we went out for pizza. We had a nice quite evening together before I took my leave as I am staying at a hotel with Gristy on my lst night here so I can get my stuff ready! I still hate goodbyes and saying it to Jen was really difficult, but it was a pleasant one anyway, which is good :o)
And so it is goodbye Melbourne in the morning, and I shall say farewell to you as I need sleep!
Until next time....
