WAITAMO CAVES - NORTH ISLAND, NEW ZEALAND
There is not much to do at Waitamo apart from the famous Glow Worm Caves. Because we had recently spent quite a bit on doing activities we decided to just do the cheaper Glow Worm Cave experience but I have been told so many amazing things about the adventure ones. (3-6 hour abseiling and rafting inside caves kinda thing)
Basically, it is a guided tour that goes every 30 mins or so and takes you inside the caves and explains all about the glow worms and the formations inside the cave. Being a little claustrophobic, I didn't really love it but I could have left at any time easily so it wasn't too bad.
You move on into a little boat and you go round the caves in pitch darkness looking at the THOUSANDS of glow worms and it is incredible. Its so beautiful. And for $35 it is worth it. If you want adventure and to do cool things in a cave in pitch darkness def look into the "Epic adventure"
