Last stop in Brazil was in the town of Benito. Little suburban town made famous for the clearest rivers in Brazil.
Once again our visit coincided with a Brazilian bank holiday, an Argentinian guy in Rio said they have 17 a year, Brazil can't be far off!
We organised a trip along the Ria Sucuri, going down the river you float using a snorkel and wetsuit, without even moving the current carries you along. Walking down to the set off point we spotted a 1.5m long snake! Good start to the trip!
Looking at the river from the banks and then snorkelling through the water was unbelievable. As crystal clear as bath water, the fish looked like they were floating mid air. The river is said to be the clearest in Brazil and it didn't disappoint! The fish under the water weren't in the numbers we first thought but there were loads to see. A few friends took a Go-Pro down with us so some good pics expected!
We spent the afternoon chilling by a natural pool and river called Balneario Municipal Rio Formoso. No sand or salty water, perfect! A near miss when we realised I'd left my phone in the cab that took us was fun for a few hours but it was still in the car when he picked us up so panic averted!
Chilled evening with a few beers and the last night with the guys from Rio and São Paulo. Next day onto Corumba, the boarder town with Bolivia on the Brazilian side.
Hopefully there for a night, into Bolivia the next day and onto Santa Cruz. However rumours were that somehow boarder crossings are closed on bank holidays so we will see...!!
