Today is our last day in this beautiful place. The first 5 days cycling were great but the last 4 days were absolutely amazing. Our rest day we took the ferry and visited the gorgeous little villages around the lake, Sirmione with its historical walled city, Garda where we sat by the lake for lunch a pizza and a glass or two of rose. Bartoloni with its lovely Duomo where they hold concerts. There is so much to do around the lake you need at least a week to see it. Then back to the next 4 days of cycling taking on a few of the more difficult climbs. Monte Baldo was the climb Lindsay wás hoping to conquer and conquer it he did. I did the first 900m and then left them to it. Along with a group of younger experienced riders and a guide who rides for the Ale team (stunning I might add) he rode like a demon. The boys all encouraged and supported him to be sure they all reached the summit together. It was so cool to see the excitement from them all at the top and even more so after the fast paced descent. The next day along with 12 others we tackled the James Bond ride named for its part in one of the movies. The climbs again tough but the Vista spectacular. I was the only women on this ride so i was lucky enough to be pampered by the boys.. They were all amazing the guides Nicola and Andrea were very watchful to ensure i was ok and in particular the younger guys who encouraged praised and even gave me a gentle push on the steeper parts to make sure I didn't get dropped. The views were worth every effort but the commraadarie more so. Tonight to top it all off we are going to the Opera in the Verona Arena with another couple from Melbourne should be a great night.
