Big driving day today. We checked out of our best western motel and made our way back to Monterey, and onto the coast and Pebble Beach. Saw many ridiculously massive mansions on the stunning golf courses around pebble beach. We stopped at Pebble Beach Golf Course and checked it out, lots of rich people with their private caddies carrying their clubs for them. Next we stopped in Carmel By The Sea for a coffee and a laugh at all the uppity richies swanning around calling each other sweetie pie! Carmel is a really cute old seaside town with lots of little boutique shops a bit like a bigger older version of Lorne. After Carmel we began our adventure down the Big Sur which was incredible. The road winds along the wild coast, there was even a section where the road had partly fallen away into the sea which was a bit scary. Towards the end of the Big Sur we encountered an elephant seal colony on the beach, hundreds of massive seals all lazing around on the beach occasionally moving up or down the beach grunting at each other, they were really cool. Next we stopped for lunch in new age town Cambria then kept trekking on towards Bakersfield. The road got really winding and boring for a while then we made it to Bakersfield and after that we started heading up amongst some mountains so it became really scenic. We decided to call it a day in Mojave so we grabbed another Best Western room, grabbed a bite and now going to crash, Vegas tomorrow whoo hoo!
