Iguassu falls is a huge waterfall that separates Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. We took a bus to Puerto Iguassu ( the Argentinean side) and had to cross the border into Foz de iguazu (the Brazilian side) as that is where we were staying. We were really excited to go to Brazil but it didn't get off to a great start...

So not only did we have to endure a bus ride in 35° heat with no AC, what should have been a 21 hour bus turned into a 24 hour one. Then to make things worse, when we got to the station, we ended up getting the wrong bus to our hostel.

However when we eventually got to our hostel, we were amazed; great pool, AC and nice people. That night we laid in our room and cooled down and went to sleep. Wild.

The next day, we went to see the Brazilian side of the falls. It was spectacular. We couldn't believe how big it was. You even got to go on a platform into the middle and get really wet. The falls are surrounded by jungle so there is also a lot of wildlife, especially some weird ant eater things. One walked across the path and a stupid lady stroked it- it almost took her finger off!

The day after, we went back to Argentina to see the falls from that side. We didn't think it could be more spectacular, but it was! You could get so so close to the falls and really appreciate how big they really are. At one point, you walk on a platform which is right at the top of the biggest waterfall. Amazing. We both think it is a definite highlight of the trip. We were also really clever and managed to avoid the crowds by leavbing really early- which was easy as Brazil is an hour ahead. Cheeky. Although Ben did get bitten by an ant and thought everything was over. He's ok though- drama queen.

Oh forgot to say how much we are struggling with Portuguese! So different to Spanish! They sound German!
