La Paz first time around.
We arrived here coming from copacabana which was a mentally long journey on a local bus and an old lady fell asleep on Bens shoulder for some of the way.
On the first day we walked around for a bit to see what was here, we then decided to go on a free walking tour which was really interesting and gave us lots of facts about the San Pedro prision and the cholitas la Paz loves its cholitas. We also went to the witches market and they have hanging up llama embryos which was gross but if you kiss one you will have good sex for 10 years. We felt like we couldn't take that risk so we did it.
We then met our tour group in the evening they seemed nice no British people a very mixed bunch. The next day we went to the moon valley, this is a valley that looks like the surface of the moon it has some very strange rock formations.
La Paz second time around.
Arriving from sucre and finishing our tour we can see if la Paz has more to offer. That night we went to watch the cholita wrestling, it was a very interesting experience, basically it is very traditional dressed women fake wrestling, with men, we saw the champion Janet 2 faces take on a masked man in Lycra it was very surreal, we also saw a clown hit a midget with a plank of wood (and instantly become hated by the crowd) so hated Ben threw his popcorn at him. and a skeleton take on a gladiator wwe could learn a thing or 2 from this.
Monday we went to Tiwanaku which is a pre Inka site, its history is very unknown but the site is amazing and the stone carvings that has been preserverd are so impressive. Well worth the 5 hour round trip to see it. In the evening we went to the steakhouse and David took on the challenge of a 1.2kg steak. It was a struggle but he managed it and won a T-shirt, bottle of wine and his face on the wall, the owner also gave everyone at the table a free tequila shot, which didn't sit well on top of the 600g steak that Ben ate.
Tuesday we was meant to bike on the death road but there was a landslide on the road and they were doing repairs to it so that was cancelled so we figured that it wasn't meant to be. Instead we had breakfast with our tour leader and then waited for Ben's stomach to digest before he did the urban rush abseil down a 18 story building. Ben was a little nervous at first but as soon as he was out the window he was back on the ground before you knew it. It was called rap jumping where you walk forwards down the building and then when you get halfway you free fall to the bottom, pretty scary stuff.
After we went to a pizza place and the medium pizzas were the size of a dominos large pizza but they were made fresh and you could even see the chef tossing the dough.
This was to be our last night in la Paz Bolivia tomorrow Is Chile.
