We started our trek across the Nullarbor today, leaving our lovely camp at Nadia Landing and heading through Penong, and straight as the crow flies along the Ayre Highway. Woke up to a bright sunny sky outside my bedroom window today. We were camped on the beach basically in a car park of a tourist attraction not far from Streaky Bay. A couple in a motor home also stayed here last night but they were up early (unlike us) and were gone by 7.30am. Spent some time talking to the farmer who owns Murphy's Haystacks and the 13,000 acres of surrounding farmland. He is third generation farming this land but the attraction has only been open to the public since 1990. It felt like a long day on the road today, packed with sightseeing. We started the day at our campsite perched on top of a cliff at Coles Point. What a stunning place to wake up to. Woke up rather early as we had some inconsiderate campers next to us who got up early and made quite a lot of noise - probably unaware of how their voices carried. Also, I dreamt of smoke all night and discovered they have a bush pig set up almost under my bedroom window. A bush pig is like an oven, heater and hot plate all in one.
