Well, the rain fell steadily all night and we woke up today to a grey day along the dry Wooramel River. Today was a day for relaxing outside under the awning, starting with a late hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs and toast all cooked on the weber. The rest of the day was spent chilling out and reading as the rain stopped and started all day. We left our sand dune beach location this morning, stopping at the blow holes, but there was no swell and no 'blow'. So lucky we got to see them blowing yesterday afternoon. We drove back into Carnarvon and went to visit the OTC Satellite Earth Station and the Space and Technology Museum. Last night some backpackers staying nearby in the rest area were pretty rowdy but after Gadi yelled out, they quietened down. This morning we headed into Carnarvon, with its fields of cultivated bananas, corn, grapes and other crops. This is so different to the dry red clay earth and clumps of salt bush we've gotten used to in outback WA. We left Exmouth and drive to Coral Bay, a couple of hours away on the opposite side of the peninsula. We had thought to stay a couple of days at a nearby low cost beach camp or one of the farm stations, but with recent rain, a lot of the dirt roads out here are in bad shape at the moment and we don't want to get stuck. Today Gadi drove to Cape Range National Park to kayak in the gorge and Cadbury and I spent the day 'at home'. I did loads of washing (boring), caught up on phone calls home, baked a chocolate cake and relaxed outside under the awning. Gadi arrived just on dark, very happy with his day out exploring more of the national park and kayaking in the stunning waters of the gorge. We BBQ'd for dinner and headed inside to continue watching Breaking Bad.
